I'm super EXCITED today!
We are finally getting a maid. Hip HIP HOORAY!!
During lunch break yesterday, Faliq and I went to Ikea and got some things for her room (I know, sempat rite :p).
After buka puasa yesterday (yes, moi the last minute ganti puasa Queen), Faliq ensembled the lemari all by him self with a teeny-weeny help from me. I'll take more pictures of the room when it's completely done. The maid is coming tonight.
Here are some pictures of Maya sibuk-ing. She is just too cute to me =D

Wherefore Art Thou Period?
Good Morning Readers!
Hope y'all are having a great week thus far. Anyhoos, I would like to share my short visit to Mr.Gynae the other day.
Fyi, I was supposed to see my doctor way back in November last year but I didn't. I can't remember exactly why I didn't show up that day.
Finally I scheduled for an appointment to see Mr.Gynae solely for the purpose to check on other stuffs; other stuffs being my uterus etc etc. I was drowned with paranoia, thinking of the worst case scenario since I have not gotten my period since after I had Maya.
Why was I too paranoid?
As I mentioned, I have not been visited by Miss Rosie since after Nifas. Yes, I've done my research and it's normal for breastfeeding mothers not to have period/ovulate. However, nothing I've read exceeds 12 months. Moreover, for the passed 2 months, I am somewhat a part-time breastfeeding mother since I've not pump during the day; I only bf at nights on weekdays and of course full time on weekends since I'm with Maya 24/7. Logically, to me, I should be getting my period since I am not lactating as mush as I used to. After putting much thought to this, I decided to see my doctor.
The doctor said there's nothing to be worried about. He said it doesn't matter if I'm bf part/full time, bottom line I'm still lactating. He added that the period should come around three months after I'm done lactating. I blurted "lamanyaaaa". I honestly do miss the cramps, mood swings and everything that comes with it. *sigh*
I was mentally prepared for a pap smear. When the doctor saw us and I told him my concerns and he asked a bunch of questions, it all resulted to no further checkup. However, silly me, I missed my third shot of Hepatitis B and now I have to start it all over again.
Just perfect Farah, PERFECT!
I hope this post will help other worried breastfeeding mommies out there.

Tiara Rose & Imaan Lily
On Sunday my cousin threw an Aqiqah party for her sweet princesses. The whole party was so beautiful especially the buaian which made me a little bumped that I didn’t get to throw a really nice one for Maya. For Maya, we did her Aqiqah when she was just 7 days old (Sunnah). Thank god my MIL had her bff make a really nice big white pillow for Maya. I will so be prepared for baby number two onwards.
Here are some pictures from the Aqiqah. I didn’t even get to take pictures with the twins as I was too lazy to grab my camera from my purse in Fiza’s room.
...................................with my Mokshu...............................
...............................with Maya's Aunty Ja.......................................
.......................Maya showering sloppy kisses to Soraya Ann......................
My Nephew, Rylen, pimpin' it with Imaan on left & Tiara on right ( my favorite <3) ..................................Maya interframe...............................
p/s: I had to change Maya into the purple dress because she had jelly all over her yellow rompers.

Bachelorette Party
How was your weekend?
Ours were PACKED!
I’m still so tired from all the happenings.
On Saturday, my cousins and I threw a SURPRISE bachelorette party for my cousin, Diyana. She’s getting hitched this coming Sunday. Weeee.. Welcome to the club Kak Di!
Us girls got a room at Westin Hotel, KL for the pre-party. We had pizza, chips, sodas and a complimentary cake. We danced, laughed and took naughty pictures together. It’s what we do best! The bride-to-be didn’t know we had the room for her because two of her sisters told her that the room was mine and suggested to just drop by before hitting the clubs.
When Diyana and sisters arrived, we were sooo menglaba to SURPRISE her. When I opened the door, we yelled out the SURPRISE and Kak Di was nowhere to be found! All I could see were Zeyna and Zana. The look on their faces were HILARIOUS; they were confused and shocked and after a good 5-10 seconds (we were still shouting), Zeyna pulled Kak Di from the corner and she was of course shocked and (YEAY) SURPRISED! Above all, the surprise part was too funny.
I had a lot of fun with my girls. I haven’t had a night out since becoming a mother. However, luck was not on my side; faliq sent a text message around midnight asking me to come home earlier if I could. As soon as I got his text, I called to check on Maya and YES, she was crying REALLY badly. Maya did fall asleep after I dropped her off my in-laws’ but when she was searching for me to nyot-nyot, she realized I wasn’t there. Apa lagi, menangis lah dia!
This mommy had to end her night just when the party was about to adjourned to Changkat for club hopping. Boohooo…
Nevertheless, I had a BLAST!
Some snippets from that night (decent ones) ;p
Obsessed with Beyonce & Ali Larter was on TV. Not quite sure what scene shown ;p
Bride-to-be is on far left. Schunn rite? Sorry boys, she is almost off the market =D

Maya's Candyland
FINALLY!!
Here are the awaited (cheh cheh) pictures from my daughter's 1st birthday party, Maya's Candyland.
Theme: Candyland (Pink, Yellow, Green, Blue)
Maya held on to this balloon almost the entire time. It was easy to spot her in the crowd.
I got these hair clips from Stride Rite. When I saw it, I must get it because they are the exact colors that I used through out her party decorations.
My SIL, Myra, came up with this idea for guests to write their sweet wishes for Maya. It's a lollipop pedestal.
My lil cousins Aya & Sofea shopping at Maya's Candyshop.
Polka dot Apam. Note: I made the sign "Maya" in the back which I'm too proud of ;p.
For cupcakes, I asked for vanilla cupcake and frosting. I bought the pink sprinkles in the US and my MIL has the blue ones sitting in her drawer. My SIL, Zafirah, patiently sprinkled the cupcakes and my cousin, Aqila, placed the cupcake toppers that my favorite girl, Leey, designed.
My SIL, Myra, found a lady that makes one of the best macarons (not too sweet) for a GREAT price and caters your color choices. They were a HUGE hit!
Leey hand made the food signs. Aren't they just too cute?
Presenting THE Birthday Cake! Check out the awesome pink cake stand! :)
Pink tablecloth, blue and green flower buckets, and yellow flowers. Not to forget a cardboard lollipop to personalize it.
I love this shot of my sweet baby looking up at someone. She looks so grown up here. *tears*
One of my many favorite shots from Balqies. Maya with her Aunty Nabila and Uncle Ilyaz.
She had a swimsuit on (it was supposed to be a pool party but NO thanks to Mr Rain for coming to the party)and the tutu I purchased from a local website. For shoes, I got her Robeez from Stride Rite. Check out the gumball machine on the shoes! Theme-riffic!
A must have picture! Mommy will always love you my darling, sweetness of heaven, Maya Suraya.

Something Engraved
I'm a huge jewelry fan. I love them but I don't wear them as often as I used to especially after having a baby. I keep my jewelry simple and I save my dangling/chandelier earings only for work (Maya loves yanking them).
Rings are the best accessories for me since it's harder for Maya to pull it off. I've always wanted a necklace with a pendant that has "Maya" or "MOM" engraved on it but it's too common. So I saw an image of the following picture on one blog and I am completely in love with it. I want I want I WANT. They ship international too! Check them out here.
They're stackable so you can have one ring for every child you have.
LOVE!!!
p/s: Dear Aza, if you're reading this, please get this for me as my belated birthday pressie (don't worry, I'll provide you my ring size ;D). I WUVE YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!

Brilliant Tips From Miss Martha
I found some awesome ideas from marthastewart.com and I thought I would like to share it here with you.
Isn't this genius? We all know ice melts and if you put a lot of them in your punch bowl, it dilutes the taste. Personally, I do love the taste of a diluted drink because people tend to make it too sweet; they have to make it sweet because by the time all the ice melt, it will have the perfect taste and by the time all the ice melt, your punch won't be as cold as you want it to be. You get the drill. ;P
Now all I need are those punch bowls. Anyone? =D
I absolutely LOVE this idea! What a way to add colors to your plain old drinking glass. All you need is fun printed cupcake liners, a puncher (to punch the hole), and a colored straw. B-R-I-L-L-I-A-N-T.
This make hosting fun right? =D
Check out them coasters! Yes, they're leaves! How awesome is that?
There are so many pretty looking leaves out there to choose from. Your guests will be blown away with this for sure! I wouldn't even thought of this really cool idea. LOVEEEEE..
I can't wait to "impress" my guests with these awesome tips from Martha Stewart (don't think I'll have a get-together anytime soon though).

TGIF
It's finally the weekend!!! Woohoo.....
Today I went to work as usual. Thank god it wasn't a hectic day today. I love to end my work week on a positive note. Don't we all do :p
So I went to see Balqies, my photog friend who we had as our photog for Maya's party, for lunch today at Subway Pavilion to look through the pictures she took. There were soooooo many of them; I wanted to pick them all!!! I can't wait to share it here (yeah, yeah,I know. I haven't even uploaded my US & Frankfurt pictures here :p). She'll hand over the CD this Sunday. Yeehawwww...
Anyhoos, I got to go. It's officially the weekend and that means I'm off to spend a good time with Maya!!
Hope y'all have a super great weekend! InsyaAllah, I'll post some pictures up this weekend. My blog is too bare. I don't like reading blogs with hardly any pictures; I'm sure you don't like it either. :D

Beauty Call
Good morning All!
So I went to bed about 9-ish close to 10pm earlier (as usual). I fell asleep with my work clothes and makeup thinking I wouldn't (NEVER) fall asleep when putting sweet angel to sleep. My SIL is spending a night at our crib and before crashing in, she watched a movie with her friends at Curve.
She called me TEN freaking times and I didn't hear my phone rang at ALL. Sorry Zafirah! I can't remember why I finally woke up and called her to ask where she was. By the time she got here, it was passed midnight.
After I got her in, I did my regular routine before hitting the sack but I suddenly have this extra rajin-ness. Since Maya's asleep, this is the best time to cut her nails. When I was doing her nails, I was thinking, why not paint my nails too!
WALLA!
I now have pretty nails! :p
I bought the Sally Hansen nail polish stickers thingy and I've never used them on me. I used them once on Aza and I haven't gotten the time to do it on me. I honestly love it and when I do run out of them, I'll get Faliq to get more for me in the US. Sadly ladies, they don't have it here yet. The come in many GORGEOUS patterns and colors. LOVEEEE!!!
Check them out!

P/S: The box come with 16 strips I think (too lazy to go and grab them from my drawer). Note that I only have it on two fingers. I do have one on my left thumb. I used only one strip to apply on three fingers. Not planning to get rid of them that soon :p

And DOWN She Goes
Maya has been sharing a bed with her beloved parents since Day 1.
Yes, we co-sleep!
When I was still pregnant with Maya, I was adamant about not practicing co-sleeping. But it all changed. I’ll get back to this after I brief you a little about my history and what I thought about co-sleeping.
Growing up, my sister and I shared a room and occasionally we’ll sleep on a mattress in mommy’s room. Well, occasionally is more to 50-50.We did it because sometimes we would want to “manja-manja”. Co-sleeping with mommy wasn’t a nuisance to any of us because it was willingly and not forcefully.
Most of my younger cousins co-slept with their parents for many many years and it was a little hard at first for them when they were asked to leave and start sleeping in their respective rooms. They slept with their parents because, I think, they were afraid of supernatural beings. For God knows why, my cousins are/were chickens. I pity my aunts and uncles: How are they going to get jiggy-with-it when they have their brood just few feet away?
I also admire how some parents that I know of, who do not practice co-sleeping have kids that are very discipline and independent. If you want your kids to sleep on their own (in your room but in a crib or in their own room), you have to start from day 1 to avoid any tantrums from your drama queen/king. I have utmost respect for parents who are able to train their kids to sleep on their own. It’s no easy work.
So when we were going to have Maya, I really wanted a crib for Maya because I want her to get use to sleeping on her own just like how she is used to sitting in her car seat (note: she does sometimes refuses to sit in it. It’s typical for any babies to do so). So off we went to shop for the best (well, within our budget) anti-microbial mattress and white crib. I was ecstatic of our purchase and was looking forward to lay Maya to sleep in it; but plans DO change.
To be honest, Maya’s crib is under-usage. We co-sleep for many STRONG reasons and I am glad we did. The following are some reasons that I could think of at the moment =p :
(1) I breastfeed her. It’s so much easier to breastfeed her while sleeping (started doing this when she was a little older, about 3 months old). I work full-time so co-sleeping helped a lot. My colleagues are amazed to see me not groggy for having a baby.
(2) Faliq is away 80% of the time for work. It’s nice to have a sleeping buddy to snuggle up to when I wake up in the middle of the night.
(3) I’m a scaredy cat. Hence, I need someone to sleep with me. You can’t blame me since I grew up sharing a bed with my sister.
(4) Beautiful bonding: Since I work full time, I hardly spend time with Maya. By sleeping together, we get to spend quality time together with all the time we have.
(5) I could monitor her just to make sure she’s still breathing and not suffocating.
And the list goes on….
I really love sharing a bed with Maya. Back then I thought it could interfere the romance of a married couple but I can assure you it doesn’t; not a tiny bit. ☺
Would you co-sleep too?
p/s: Maya fell of the bed for the very first time two nights ago. She sleep-crawled (I was dead asleep). I was awaken by a loud fall sound and her cries. Thank god she didn’t fall head first. I soothed her and fed her and she was all OK. I feel rotten about it to this day. Soryy my lil munchkin.

Baby On Board
Before I had a child, I would feel tremendously sorry for parents who have to calm down their crying baby in the airplane, especially during taking off and landing due to the change of pressure. I would think all parents will face that at a certain point in time, all parents including me. With a crying, cranky baby in a long or short haul flight will not only drive parent/s insane, it will definitely annoy your most-of-the-time not friendly seat neighbor.
Now, are we parents with babies/toddlers are indirectly forbidden to ever think about going anywhere via an airplane solely for the comfort of others on board or for our own insanity?
Answer: NO!
There are many remedies out there for parents who are travelling with the young ones. Someone that I knew suggested giving cough medicine for kids (not for babies of course) just so they’ll be too drowsy to run around the plane like it’s a playground.
As for me, Maya is only one and I do not know how she’ll be like in the future but for the three times flying with her, Alhamdulillah, she hasn’t thrown a tantrum.
My ultimate tip is breastfeed during taking off and landing. If you don’t breastfeed, feed her bottle or a pacifier; anything really that requires sucking! It surely worked for me and hopefully it’ll too for other mommies out there.
I find travelling with the younger Maya (4-6 months) is much more relaxing than travelling with her when she’s older (10 months). For obvious reason, older babies do not know how to sit still when they’re awake; they just NEVER stop.
When we went to Terengganu and Istanbul, Maya was not on solids yet; so whenever she was hungry, all I had to do is give her my boobies. When we had our surprise visit to US, she was already taking solids; we brought only two baby food in a jar from Malaysia for the plane ride. We shopped for baby food at Walmart to stock up for our entire stay there and we brought few back to Germany and KL. Faliq and I brought baby food on the plane thinking “Maya can’t eat aircraft food” because we didn’t know until later when we were flying from Frankfurt to KL; the flight attendant asked us if we would like baby food for Maya. We were quite jakun saying “Oh, you guys ada baby food?” and she said “Yes, we always have”. Well of course we didn’t know about it when no one told us. So to all parents out there, if you don’t know, now you know =D
Maya and I, InsyaAllah, will be going back to FL early August for Aza’s graduation (Aza’s going to be a graduate; I’M SO PROUD OF HER!). It’ll be a very looooooong flight just the two us. Oh Allah, please help me out! I get panic attack now just thinking about it. Maya is quite mobile now *gulp* Help? :/
