Your baby may amaze you (and herself!) around this age by rolling over from her back onto her front or vice versa. You can encourage this new ability by placing her on her back and wiggling a toy on the side she usually rolls to. Babies love praise, so congratulate her and smile when she manages to roll. When she's on her stomach, you may find that she sometimes rests from her "head-up" position by putting her head down and drawing her knees up under her so that her bottom goes up. She will practise getting both ends of her body up into the air so that she can eventually achieve the hands-and-knees position she'll need for crawling. --Babycenter.com
Maya's development: She started rolling at 3 months & 4 weeks! It was the 2nd day of Eid and I'm ever so grateful that I was around to witness it. Being a NON stay-at-home-mommy (SAHM), I may tend to miss beautiful moments such as this. Hopefully Maya knows when exactly to show off her new talents hereafter (ONLY when her mommy's around!). Selfish, I KNOW :p
Insanely IN love with her daughter,

What Big Thighs You Have Maya
Took Maya to see her doctor on Wednesday during my lunch break. Since Hubby was not in town that day, my mom and I took her to the clinic. She was given:
(1) 2nd dose of Polio
(2) 2nd dose of Rotavirus Vaccination
(3) 2nd dose of Pneumococcal Vaccination
Polio & Pneumococcal was jabbed on each leg while for the rotavirus, the Doc had to forced it down Maya's throat. Well he didn't exactly do that but Maya for sure wasn't happy.
The total for our visit this time was RM530. RM530?!?!?! *ouch*
Thank god we have only one child at the moment. Parents with twins, triplets or MORE will definitely get hurt.
Check out Maya's thighs!

Maya has more shots next month and they said it'll cost me RM410!

Anything for mommy's baby girl :)

Project 1
I did a lot of internet browsing at work today and I came across a website that has MANY baby nursery ideas with pictures heavy. I already have a theme for Maya’s nursery in which I’ve already worked maybe 50% on it; however it has been like that for the passed 3 months :/. After going through all those beautiful nursery photos, I have now a new project, a project that I MUST finish. One thing, decorating in Malaysia is no fun since most things here are just overly priced. You can’t find great bargains here like you can in the U.S.
I know for a fact that this project might take some time due to budget constraint. *sheeeshhh*
Nevertheless I’ll try my very best to make my dream baby nursery come true.
Can’t wait for the end result. My brain is overfilled with ideas that are ready to explode.
*ehem*
Dear Self,
Before going on this mission, please do something about Maya’s clean laundry. FOLD THEM UP & PUT THEM AWAY!
Your action will be very much appreciated.
Thanks & Regards,
Farah

Mak Andam for Hire?
First and foremost, Eid Mubarak y’all!
I had an awesome Raya with my loved ones even though I had food poisoning on the 2nd day plus a fever and a cold. Believe it or not, it’s the 11th Syawal today, and I still have the cold and Maya too caught it from me. BOOOO.. Nevertheless, I had fun dressing my baby up and collecting duit raya for her :p

~Our 1st Day Eid~
I didn’t take any extra leave for Eid so I had to be back at work on 4th Syawal or September 13th. Here in Malaysia, Eid is a one whole month celebration. Therefore, each weekend is filled with food, love & fun FUN time. From September 13th till the 17th, I worked from 8am till 8pm (except for the 16th since it was Malaysia Day). We were short in staffs and our foreign clients were placing crazy amount of trades (it was more than the usuals), of all the time when were short handed, just GREAT. I get to see just a little bit of Maya after work just before she’s off to la-la land that whole week. I haven’t had any rest since Eid. If I’m not at work, I’m at someone’s home stuffing my belly up :)
This passed Saturday, my sis-in-law had her bertandang ceremony in which it consists of two events and they were all held in one day. And guess what, I was chosen to help do her make up. I was so excited when I was given the task but super nervous whether or not if I can do a good job. I watched uncountable times of makeup tutorials on youtube (thank god for their existent) and studied wedding looks after looks. For the afternoon session I was a tad nervous because 1) I don’t do bridal makeup except on my self (which I did it on my own for my wedding) and 2) I have to impress the bride herself. In the middle of working my magic, Maya was hungry for mommy’s delicious milk, so I had to go for an intermission and feed my baby while the bride had someone else over to do her hair. I was running out of time to have her ready and the whole bridal party which were my MIL, my other SIL, maid-of-honor and MY SELF. Not forgotten MAYA, she was still in her jammies! The bride’s entourage was expected to be at the venue by 1:30pm and guess what I was doing at 1:30pm, yeap, I was busy getting Maya ready.

~Afternoon Session~

~Blessing Ceremony~
We had a good time eating, mingling and I was relieved when I was told that I can work on the bride again at 6pm.
Around 5-ish, the bride called me and she was under a panic attack. The salon that she wanted to do her hair is no longer in business! I recommended her to go to a different salon and she said she doesn’t want to go to the mall because she’s afraid she might bumped into someone there. She asked me if I could do hair. ME??? Me do HAIR??? Errr…. was my answer and I heard my self saying “yeah, I think I can do hair.” What was I thinking? Hahahahaha.. I still chuckle whenever I think about it now. I told her to get some hairspray since I don’t own one. So I rushed over to my MIL, worked my magic for the second time around, and WALLA, I was quite impressed with my self. Never knew I had some talent that still needs some polishing.

~Night Session~
So those were my weekend highlights & not to forget we went to an open house on Sunday and a wedding at night. (O.o)

I'll Miss You Ramadhan
Can you believe it, Ramadhan is almost over. That when by quick! I missed a lot of days this time, especially during the weekdays. I had to because Maya needs her mommy’s delicious milk and if I were to fast, which I did for the first week, I can barely pump milk when I’m at work. I thought I was drying up when I couldn’t pump as much as I did when I wasn’t fasting. My body was just too dehydrated from the fasting. However, I do fast on my weekends since I don’t need to pump when I’m with Maya. To date, I’ve fasted 12 days. I’ll be fasting most likely on the last day of Ramadhan and maybe the day before that day too.
This passed Sunday, Faliq and I hosted a get together buka puasa with our friends at our home. I cooked for all 13 of us! I made chicken rice and chicken pie. I’m so proud of myself :)

Chix Pie

Rice & Chix Broth

Fried Chix To Go With Rice

Soy Sauce & Sambal & Other Condiments
and of course the desserts which were brought by Leey

I haven’t cooked for these many people for the longest time, so I was a little terrified on the tasting since I was fasting on top of it. I think the food turned out pretty well since all my food was almost gone. Thank god I had my mom to help me out with Maya and also helped me with some garnishing and condiments. *phew* I finished cooking just minutes before maghrib. The only boo part about last night's serving was my sirap, it was tooooooooooooo sweet. My taster, Zafirah, said it wasn’t sweet enough and she told me to add a lil more of the syrup. It was already extremely sweet in the beginning so just imagine how diabetes-prone the taste was after I added just a lil more. *yuckie*
All and all I had a great time hosting the dinner. Leey, Mom, and I had our gossip session in the room while the others were watching some movie in the living room. Gosh, how I miss those late night talking + Aza.

“When your baby starts spitting saliva, your hair will start to thin-out”
Helppppppppppp! It’s really happening. I’m BALDING. *cries blood*
I thought I was the lucky one but I was wrong, just WRONG!
I see my hair E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E, all over the floor, bed, couch, tables, MAYA -- oh when will this end.
Finally, my hair is at its almost desired length but I think my scalp is too weak to bear the weight of my long hair. I was too closed to having my hair chopped off the other day. *sniff*
Hari Raya is next week and I want to look good with my long hair but I don’t think I can afford losing more hair. Mind you, I do have a lot of hair; it’s just that I hate seeing my hair all over the floor just minutes after vacuuming the house.
However, if I do go ahead and have my hair short, will it end this misery? If no, I would have to wait for another year or more to have it back to where it is at right now. *sigh*
Short or Long?
If I were to ask my husband, his answer would be -- “just wear a hijab”
As I’m typing, I’m running my fingers through my ponytail, and guess what I see, EXACTLY, I see few strands of hair in my hand. :’(
I is sad
