Maya is 6 months and 2 weeks old!
Time sure flies. As I'm typing this, she's watching her mommy blogging while she's stuck in her Bumbo. :)
Maya's getting restless so I gotta make this short.
I've been wanting to blog about this since friday the 3rd but I just don't have the time to blog. It's amazing how people can blog everyday. I usually end up sleeping E-V-E-R-Y-T-I-M-E I put Maya to bed so there's no way I can blog when she's asleep. *shessshhh*
Anyhoos, MAYA CAN SIT!!!!! All by herself! Errrr.. Sorta. She's still new at it so we do need to keep an eye on her when she's sitting.
She was lil Miss Show-Off that night. I'm soooooo proud of my baby.
This morning she crawled (uuu yah, she can army-crawl now) over to the sheers by our sliding door, and sat there a good 15-30 minutes.
Maya is EXTREMELY manja though. She must have someone in her sight and IF there's nobody around her, she'll cry as though she had lost a puppy. Therefore, it's hard for me to do anything around the house when she's awake. It's a little frustrating to see the house not at its best state when you get home from work. There's no way I can clean the house after work. I don't have enough time really to pick up after my self because usually when I get home around 9-ish pm, I have to get my self ready to bed super sonic-ly so I can put Maya to bed. If I don't do that, I'll fall asleep with my work clothes and make up and contacts. Arghhhhh... I just wish I'm a SAHM sometimes. I wish I could make Maya her food instead of buying baby food from the store. I wish I could fold the clothes everytime after each wash. I wish I could maintain our home like how I would love it to be. *sigh* Ok, I know, we do have weekends to do allll that, but let's be honest, do we really have time in the weekend to stay home?? Nope, we don't.
Ok, gotta go. Maya's ready for bed.

Chai-World
Woke up this morning feeling tired but GLAD that it’s FRIDAY!!!!
I couldn’t wait for my day at work to end already so I can be with my baby girl all weekend and have a goooooooooooood time til Monday comes back. So what I worked only two days this week, we can never get enough of holidays.
Why is it a 2 days work week for me?
I was on leave.
And what did I do?
We went to ISTANBUL!!!
Ohhhhhhh yes, we were in Istanbul for 3 ½ days. It’s Fall there and it was a lovely change of weather for the three of us. I’ll post some pictures up soon.
I think we all must go there at least once in our lifetime. Istanbul is beautiful. I love the layout of that city from its architecture to fashion. They have many old, REALLY old buildings around unlike Malaysia (they seem to demolish everything from the pass and build skyliners here). It’s quite affordable there too. However, we didn’t do any major shopping because the Grand Bazaar (Istanbul’s shopping haven) was closed due to Hari Raya Haji. Maya and I were lucky since we had our own personnel guide FOC aka Faliq. We went to the Blue Mosque, AyaSofya (well we took a pic in front of it, the queue was too long to get in :p), Topkapi Palace, Taksim (reminds me of NYC), and Bosphorus Cruise (we went to a place called I-can't-remember-&-I'm-too-lazy-to-find-it-out and we climbed up a hill to a castle overlooking the BLACK SEA!). It was a short stay but it was just nice to fully appreciate the beauty of Istanbul. We might go back to Turkiye and explore other places.
Thanks Allah Almighty for this wonderful vacation!
P.S: Faliq couldn't have enough of Chai (Turkey's tea) in Turkiye

Baby Belly

Why is it when I see pregnant ladies, they make me want another one pronto?!??!
I enjoyed the baby kicks and the aura I gleamed despite the annoying BIG FOOT and Hulk-like fingers. Oh, NEVER to forget, Ogre-like nose too.
Even though I ended up looking like a marshmallow, I LOVED every milli-second of it.
However, when I recently visited my friend who just had a baby, I CRINGED!
How can I forget about the excruciating pain of childbirth?!!?!
I had one just six months ago and I completely (not entirely :p) forgotten about that.
Maya’s not going to have a baby sister/brother anytime soon for sure. She will have plenty of coming-soon-baby cousins to bully.
Congrats to the newly proud parents of Humairah!

Sadness
Girls & Shoes = INSEPARABLE

Since I’ve become a mother, I’ve abandoned my killer heels.
~I’m sorry babies, mommy miss you too~
Only on rare occasions I’ll strut ‘em heels.
It’s hard to balance on a 3-incher when you have a baby who sometimes prefer to be carried rather than pushed in a stroller. I’m not complaining but if I plan to be in crutches anytime soon, I’ll definitely start parading in them religiously.
It’s hard to say NO to that OMG-fabulous-strappy-platform-heels whenever I’m in a shoe store BUT I have become a “champion” at turning them down. Even though I am a self proclaimed “champion”, believe me, I still find it difficult to just walk away. *sigh*
However, thank god there are plenty of GORGEOUS flats/sandals out there for us ladies. We can still look goo goo GAGA in flats ya know. *me thinks*
Flats come in different colors and designs that cater to any style we’re rocking. Flats are versatile too; I can wear them to the office and a night out later. It’s ok to “invest” in flats because we all know that we will end up wearing flats more than heels. Therefore, it’s worth every penny when you splurge on that “must have” Tod’s flats. :p
Btw, this is what I wore on my wedding day & I'm glad I did.

This post does not mean that I will never ever buy heels.

I’m not a woman without my heels. :)
