What's Your Color?

Tis the season to be jolly, Fa la la la la la la la la

It’s always nice to paint your nails according to the season. Since it’s winter, well not quite in Malaysia but who cares, there are few “in” shades for nails all over magazines and the internet. The IN shade is any shade of browns, neutral-ish, color with a hint of glitters. I searched one for me high and low, well I went straight to Guardian Pharmacy and I found few but I settled with Rimmel’s “Chocolate Fountain” (hmmm hmmm, that sounds yummy) for only RM10.70. You can’t beat that (ok ok, I know you can).

This shade is more like metallic brown rather than glittery brown. I like it though.

Much Love

Feliz Cumpleanos!

“Researchers at Vanderbilt University believe they know why winter babies are more likely to grow up to develop bipolar depression, schizophrenia, SAD (seasonal affective disorder) and other neurological disorders, compared to kiddos born in the summer months. The reason? Winter messes with our biological clocks, they say.”

“In their study of mice, they believe they've found the link between the "imprinting" of the biological clock at birth and the development of various health conditions later in life.” – glamour.com

Hmmm…

Let’s hope we winter babies don’t develop any of the above.

We??

Well someone just turned 24 and it’s ME!! =))

I’m nearly a quarter of a century old as told by Fiza. Birthdays excite me but not like they did back in my juvenile years. If any asked Farah at age 14 for a birthday list, she can make one up in a split second. Ask Farah at age 24 for one; doubt you’ll stick around to wait for it.

Don’t get me wrong. I do love birthdays. This year is a little special since it’s my first birthday as a mother.

I took Monday off which was a great thing. FYI, I’ve been working on my birthday ever since my 19th birthday.

On Saturday, December 11th, my MIL treated us lunch at Plan B, Bangsar Village, to celebrate all three December babies (my FIL, BIL and ME) birthdays. It was nice that we celebrated it at that side of town, something for a change.

This year I got few good presents and I heart them all. Faliq got me a handbag (love LOVE IT), Kakak got me Flora by Gucci (love LOVE IT), my SIL, Wawa, got me 4x Latin ballroom dance lessons (love LOVE IT—I CAN’T WAIT TO SHAKE MY BOOTY!), RS got me a rubber flats from Marc Jacobs (love LOVE IT), my MIL got me a makeup box (love LOVE IT)and Maya gave me more poop and saliva, hahahahahaha.. I love my baby.

Alhamdulillah, I am a year older and may Allah bless me more healthy-happy-wealthy-in-all-sorts years ahead.

Updates On My Life

Maya is 6 months and 2 weeks old!
Time sure flies. As I'm typing this, she's watching her mommy blogging while she's stuck in her Bumbo. :)
Maya's getting restless so I gotta make this short.
I've been wanting to blog about this since friday the 3rd but I just don't have the time to blog. It's amazing how people can blog everyday. I usually end up sleeping E-V-E-R-Y-T-I-M-E I put Maya to bed so there's no way I can blog when she's asleep. *shessshhh*

Anyhoos, MAYA CAN SIT!!!!! All by herself! Errrr.. Sorta. She's still new at it so we do need to keep an eye on her when she's sitting.
She was lil Miss Show-Off that night. I'm soooooo proud of my baby.

This morning she crawled (uuu yah, she can army-crawl now) over to the sheers by our sliding door, and sat there a good 15-30 minutes.

Maya is EXTREMELY manja though. She must have someone in her sight and IF there's nobody around her, she'll cry as though she had lost a puppy. Therefore, it's hard for me to do anything around the house when she's awake. It's a little frustrating to see the house not at its best state when you get home from work. There's no way I can clean the house after work. I don't have enough time really to pick up after my self because usually when I get home around 9-ish pm, I have to get my self ready to bed super sonic-ly so I can put Maya to bed. If I don't do that, I'll fall asleep with my work clothes and make up and contacts. Arghhhhh... I just wish I'm a SAHM sometimes. I wish I could make Maya her food instead of buying baby food from the store. I wish I could fold the clothes everytime after each wash. I wish I could maintain our home like how I would love it to be. *sigh* Ok, I know, we do have weekends to do allll that, but let's be honest, do we really have time in the weekend to stay home?? Nope, we don't.

Ok, gotta go. Maya's ready for bed.

Chai-World

Woke up this morning feeling tired but GLAD that it’s FRIDAY!!!!
I couldn’t wait for my day at work to end already so I can be with my baby girl all weekend and have a goooooooooooood time til Monday comes back. So what I worked only two days this week, we can never get enough of holidays.

Why is it a 2 days work week for me?
I was on leave.
And what did I do?
We went to ISTANBUL!!!

Ohhhhhhh yes, we were in Istanbul for 3 ½ days. It’s Fall there and it was a lovely change of weather for the three of us. I’ll post some pictures up soon.
I think we all must go there at least once in our lifetime. Istanbul is beautiful. I love the layout of that city from its architecture to fashion. They have many old, REALLY old buildings around unlike Malaysia (they seem to demolish everything from the pass and build skyliners here). It’s quite affordable there too. However, we didn’t do any major shopping because the Grand Bazaar (Istanbul’s shopping haven) was closed due to Hari Raya Haji. Maya and I were lucky since we had our own personnel guide FOC aka Faliq. We went to the Blue Mosque, AyaSofya (well we took a pic in front of it, the queue was too long to get in :p), Topkapi Palace, Taksim (reminds me of NYC), and Bosphorus Cruise (we went to a place called I-can't-remember-&-I'm-too-lazy-to-find-it-out and we climbed up a hill to a castle overlooking the BLACK SEA!). It was a short stay but it was just nice to fully appreciate the beauty of Istanbul. We might go back to Turkiye and explore other places.

Thanks Allah Almighty for this wonderful vacation!

P.S: Faliq couldn't have enough of Chai (Turkey's tea) in Turkiye

Baby Belly

Why is it when I see pregnant ladies, they make me want another one pronto?!??!
I enjoyed the baby kicks and the aura I gleamed despite the annoying BIG FOOT and Hulk-like fingers. Oh, NEVER to forget, Ogre-like nose too.
Even though I ended up looking like a marshmallow, I LOVED every milli-second of it.
However, when I recently visited my friend who just had a baby, I CRINGED!
How can I forget about the excruciating pain of childbirth?!!?!
I had one just six months ago and I completely (not entirely :p) forgotten about that.
Maya’s not going to have a baby sister/brother anytime soon for sure. She will have plenty of coming-soon-baby cousins to bully.

Congrats to the newly proud parents of Humairah!
