EXTREMELY Overdue Istanbul Pictures

Most of my readers are my family and friends. I would expect you guys have at least seen some pictures from my Istanbul trip (for a second there I was about to type Dubai ;p). Anyhoos, here are some of my favorites!

Would love to go back and visit places I didn't get to go!

Some Crisis

I hate paying off debts. I took a student loan for only two semesters thinking I could easily pay it off when I become a career woman. The reason why I took the loan were because I had to cut some time off at work (had to concentrate in my senior year), I needed the extra cash for my wedding and needed to pay the shipping charges for my BIG move to Malaysia.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I make crappy salary. How on earth am I gonna get by here in Malaysia while paying my loans in America to avoid having bad credits there? Should I just wait for a little bit more and see if there’s any salary increment for me?

Should I look for a new job now and quit this one once I land on something better?

Should I do some sort of business on the side? But what? I am not creative what-so-ever!

Or maybe I should be a SUPER STAR!  :p

We Match

I love seeing couples, family or a group of people wear almost matching outfits. If you were to ask me back then, I hated our matching baju kurung. My nenek was in charged in buying the material for many MANY years and I would beg her every year to at least buy them in different colors. It was never cool back then. However, since I’m a grown woman *coughs* my perspective in fashion is completely the opposite *blink blink*.

Matching to me doesn’t straight up means wearing the SAME exact thing but in different sizes. To me matching also defines having the same basic elements. It could be the hair, the funk or the color. Well, I'm sure you know what I mean.

Here are some of my favorites.

Hurricane-like Storm

Did you witness the storm yesterday between 3:30-4:30pm?

It was by FAR the worst I’ve seen here in Malaysia.

I work on the 4th floor and we have the KL concrete jungle view. Yesterday’s storm was crazily bad that it was close to zero visibility (to me). At one point, here in my office, when I looked over at the end of my office, it was blurry-smoky-foggy in the room. The wind was damn strong that it got a little misty in the room. HOW AWESOME IS THAT?? Colleagues and I gushed to the window to check out the rain. Anyhoos, I went back to my seat and continued doing my work as it was almost the end of market.

Around 5-ish, my colleague’s cellphone rang and someone on the other end asked for me. My colleague was a little confused as to why someone was asking for me on his cellphone. He then passed the phone to me and I heard Mr. Em’s worried voice asking for my plate number. I was a little blur of what was going on and thinking “why is this dude asking me things when I have so much trade confirmations to send out to clients”. I slowly picked out few words “hujan-lebat-pokok-tumbang-habis-kereta-tumbang-banyak” OH EM GEE!!! There were many fallen trees and there were lots of cars trapped underneath go-knows-how-old trees!! My stomach churned and I was about to passed out! He asked me again what’s my plate number and I gave him and he went to look for my car and he said “Ha, keta ko OK!”

ALHAMDULILLAH ALHAMDULILLAH ALHAMDULILLAH

So I went back to work without bothering to go and check on my car.

About five minutes later someone emailed almost everyone pictures of what had happened. When I saw the pictures, I couldn’t work and had to pause. So I went downstairs to have a look on my car and silly me thought the rain had stopped; I didn’t take the umbrella with me so I “mini” jogged to the parking lot. I could see multi-colored field of umbrellas from a far and it was a solemn scenario as though there was a death. As I walked in the parking lot, the parking attendee said “Akak punya kerete ok, pagi tardi akak park kereta pun orke.” PHEWWWWWWWW…

I went out yesterday lunch and when I got back from lunch I usually, almost always, will park under the trees because I wouldn’t have anywhere else to park. Thank god I found one where no tall, big trees decided not to fight against the strong wind. So basically the two spots I parked my car yesterday was SELAMAT! However, those who parked at my regular parking spot had it BAD. Just awful! I feel extremely sorry for them.

So I went back to work and when I was done around 6-ish, the fire rescuers were there with chainsaws, cutting trees and getting one car out at a time. There were a huge crowd of spectators at that lot FOR SURE! The tow truckers were chasing after cars that needed their car to be towed. It was definitely the biggest event that parking lot has ever had.

I am ever so grateful to Allah Almighty for protecting my car and others besides few twigs and leaves. That is IT, no more parking under any trees PERIOD!

Grateful

Jungle Red

I feel like talking about my latest lipstick collection (the lipstick is at least 3 months old now :p) since I’m in the mood to talk about beauty products.

Presenting…..

Bobbi Brown in Red

So far I’m loving this lipstick. It’s quite matte but not too matte as MAC’s. A simple make up can look VA VA VOOM just by pairing it with red lips. However I usually have every other thing on me, such as clothes and accessories, very minimal if I want to rock the red (afterall I ain’t Lady Gaga).

Black eyeliner with over the top mascara and just a hint of rosy cheeks are all you need to wear it with this color. If you’re too lazy to put any makeup on, just put on your hatha blockas and wear the red. Nevertheless, I try to stay away from red lips, especially the matte ones, if I’ll be pigging out. Matte is quite long lasting but it wears off ONLY at certain areas on your lips where it rubs against your food the most (it can look a little awful). Nevertheless, all you have to do is re-apply after pigging and blabbing (it’s nothing like constantly re-applying lip glosses or other non-matte lipstick).

So ladies, if you don’t own a red lipstick yet, go get yourself one. It is a must have lipstick color!

Stretchmarks

Yes, I am a victim of stretchmarks. *nangis teresak-esak*

When I was pregnant, all I applied was Body Shop’s shea butter once a day because I was just darn LAZY! I didn’t have any stretchmarks up to my 8 month, ZERO ZILCH NADA! My Dr even complimented my flawless round belly and I would smile widely thinking “GEE, am I lucky or WHAT!” However, stretchmarks striked and my belly is all BLERGH. Thank god I don’t have the discoloration; that would break my heart even more. To be honest, I haven’t felt sexy in front of my husband since the day I got enormous. SM is not the only thing that bugs me but not having the elasticity of youth skin is what I hate most. I don’t know if there’s any product out there in the market that can fix this problem. I went to Clarins few days back to ask if they have anything for me; nope they don’t. I think the only thing that I can do now is firming it up by working out and doing gazillion crunches. (I get anxiety attacks whenever I think about working out)

I am sort of working out every Saturday. Does Maya’s Gymboree classes count? ☺

To all expectant mothers, please do all the prevention you can from SECOND you found out you’re preggers. AND please, applying only shea butter once a day is NOT enough. I’m sure you mamas are “preventing” but do you think what you’re doing is enough? How do we even know what’s enough.

What triggered me to write this post?

I saw my cousin-in-law’s UBER-ly flat tummy last night and I so want it but I know I can never have it.

I'm Back

...and this time around, I'll stay!!!!!

Happy New Year Everyone!!!
(I doubt I have any readers since I myself have not been on this page for donkey months)

What's new?

....with Maya

Maya is nine months old and she is definitely a hand full. I discovered a toothe growing out on last Friday and I she could clap her hands on that very same day. That's DOUBLE achievements! :D She could do twinkle twinkle little stars with her hands but she hasn't been doing it for a week now :( I love watching how busy she gets playing with her toys or with anything laying around, walking around the coffee table over and over again and gets all sweaty. MASHAMNESS ALERT I tell you! She is indeed my Maya the Little Explorer :D Going through my handbag is one of her many favorite things to do. She'll take every single little thing out of my purse and NOPE she doesn't know how yet to put it back to where they belong.

....with Me

I am still working at the same place, making the same crappy salary and of course I dread my self to work every freaking morning. I would love to one day have a job that I get all excited and happy every time the alarm goes off in the morning *sigh* Anyhoos, I CUT my long LOCKS!!!!! I did it!!! I kinda love-hate it. I love that it doesn't take that much time to style it in the morning but I hate that I can't do much in the styling department. I'm just going to flaunt my do the best I can. I'm also at the verge off planning Maya's 1st birthday party. I'm EXCITED!! I will post the pictures up after the party which is like way towards the end of May. Time sure flies man!

I AM going to try my extremely best to keep this blog updated even though I don't really have anything to blog about.

Much Love
Farah
