On Friday, July 22nd 2011, my family and I lost someone special; my maternal grandfather passed away after many years of battling with heart and lungs failure.
This is still too surreal to us.
He has been in and out of the hospital since mid-2000; each time he was admitted, we thought he wasn’t going to make it but I guess only Allah knows when. However, even though his last admission has been by far the worst we’ve seen, we really thought he would get out of it like a champ he is.
He was discharged that morning around 11am, just before Friday prayers, and was sent to my aunt’s home. I was at the hospital for a little bit that morning to get my 2nd dosage of Hepatitis B and I missed him by few minutes when I went up to his room; he was already waiting for my uncle in the ambulance. I told Faliq that I want to spend time with him on Saturday after Maya’s Gymboree; instead we were at his funeral.
My aunt and grandma were with him when he was taken away; it was quick and pain-free that my aunt thought he had fallen asleep after feeding him his last medication. Alhamdulillah.
I am glad he isn’t suffering anymore but I truly miss him. I think about him all the time and it hurts. I still can’t believe that he has gone forever.

Pedi-Lunch
Since Ramadhan is around the corner, what could us girls do during lunch break?
Self pampering!
Since I am still paying what I owe last Ramadhan, I get bored sitting around in the office during lunch break (my lunch break is 1 1/2 -2 hrs). So yesterday, I went to Pavilion to treat my self a pedicure. I haven't had one in ages and I strongly needed it. For some odd reason, the sole of my feet have become so dry since being pregnant and therefore I majorly need pedicure.
Off I went to Pavi and when I got to Color Culture (I think), the next available slot was at 2pm. Holy Shmokes! That's too LATE! *cried myself a river* I went straight to the directory board, time was almost 1pm (lunch break starts at 12.30pm), and they don't have other nail bars except for the ones in hair salons where they don't have a proper pedi station. *cried myself an Ocean*
I still had so much time before heading back to the office and NO, window shopping is not what I wanted to do to kill time. All I wanted was a pedicure.
I then thought off walking across to Fahrenheit Mall. I was contemplating as it was too hot out and fasting on top of that. I finally decided to just go with it and if they don't have a nail bar there, I would so curse the mall out, just kidding. As I was walking in the hot "summer" sun of Kuala Lumpur (chewah chewah), I suddenly felt like I was walking in NYC (berangan jap). LOL!
Got in the mall and saw the sign "Beauty 2F" and I was hoping and wishing they have it on that floor. Made my way up via the escalator, and as I almost reached the second floor, I saw the beautiful signage of Bee Bee Nail Bar. *Heaven, I'm in Heaven*
Thank god there were no customers, well that's a little selfish of me to say that, but the point that I'm trying to say is that YABIDABEDOO, I can finally sit back, relax and enjoy my pedi!
I opt for buffing instead of nail polish.
Look how shiny the are!

Red-Head Mommy
My SIL and I went to the salon on Saturday to get out hair done. The salon right by our place were giving out great promotions; just at the right time.
I asked for 2-3 shades lighter brown but we all know that hair color doesn't usually come out right, so now I am semi red-head. Reddish copperish maybe? Nevertheless, I LOVE the new change! I can't stand being a brunette and change is always good.

Breastfeeding
I am a breastfeeding mommy and I'm grateful for this gift from Allah. I've been bf for almost 14 months and I hope I can until Maya turns 2 or just before she turns 2.
Since I don't produce as much milk as I would love to, I am not looking forward to that day when I have nothing left for Maya. Once in awhile, I'll take pictures of us, bonding together, or I'll bother Faliq to take pictures of me feeding Maya.
I regret I don't take as many pictures as I should. I will definitely take pictures of me bf my babies to come every month just so I could see how much they have grown and yet still latching on me.
Here are some pictures that I have with me now (I'm in the office), and they are very precious to me.
Isetan KLCC (Raya Shopping) -- 3 Months
Istanbul -- 6 Months
Frankfurt -- 10 Months
Home -- 11 1/2 Months
Home -- 13 Months
Muka Kenyang = GERAMNESS!
If you're a mommy-to-be/new mommy/mommy, remember to take lots of pictures of you breastfeeding your children. I'm going to try to do that. These pictures will remind me later of these treasured moments.

Yester-years
I love reading my sister's blog.
I love reading her past because it takes me back to my past.
Reading her past posts felt like it all happened just recently.
Never knew I would actually confess this, but here are some of the things that I bizarely miss: being a full-time student plus working at least 30 hours/week, driving around in a Dodge Caravan 1990 that Daddy got for us with no a/c and the driver's window was 99% permanently down, working at Atlanta Bread Company despite the long hours on my feet and early openings, did few years of telemarketing despite getting cursed out 80% of the time, and the list goes on. Above all, I miss doing things with my sister. People find it odd that we could live in a one bedroom apartment and work in the same place but to be honest, she's the best roomie and best colleague I've ever had. Of course, I miss the time we had mommy when you decided to join us few years later. =D
Ok, come to think of it, I don't EXACTLY miss the working part but I do miss the experiences and friends. ;p

How's Your Friday So Far?
Mine is good so far.
I was major late this morning for work. Thank god for my MIL who called to asked for my whereabout at 8.14am (I was supposed to be in my seat at that time). Thank god big boss wasn't in yet when I got to the office at 9am.
I'm fasting today. I still have a lot more days to pay as I missed 17 days last Ramadhan due to breastfeeding. My body wasn't producing enough milk to pump in the day time for Maya due to dehydration of course. I had no choice but to not fast and thank god my milk production went back to normal. So here I am, paying one day at a time.
Today is my fifth day and I'm doing pretty good. Went to Pavilion during lunch break and treated my self a wash and blow. I love getting my hair done but I don't get to do it as much as I would want to.
Got back to office and Boss "surprised" us with Red Velvet Cupcake from Bijoux/Bisou (whatever) and it's killing me watching everyone around me eating while all I could do is salivate. :(
My share of cupcakes are sitting nicely on my workstation waiting patiently for this monster to CHOW them down.
Muka Orang Puasa - I hope no one caught me taking a picture of myself at work
Not the best Red Velvet but when you're fasting ANYTHING looks YUMMY!

These Are A Few Of My Favorite Makeup
First and foremost, Happy Fourth of July!!
Wish I was still in the US, just so I can enjoy the day off.
Mini Update:
Maid -- Maid is not here yet! *cries blood* Apparently someone died so the agent hasn't gotten back to me. I've texted her since the "kematian" (not sure if it's on her side or the maid's) and yet no reply. Called her like 30 minutes ago and YET no callback. I'm going to give her until tonight, and if there is still no reply, the deal is OFF!
Maya -- My MIL discovered another tooth popping out on the lower gums. Total number of teeth to date, 7!
Back to the main topic of this post, here are some of my current favorites. I can't live without them!
Make Up For Ever HD Foundation -- This is by far the best foundation for Malaysian crazy-loco humid weather. The finish is liquid to powder, therefore it doesn't give that dewy look. If you have combination skin like moi and are unhappy with your current foundation, try switching to this. However it doesn't give that much of a full coverage, don't think it's a full coverage foundation; you can always use your concealer to conceal anything needed.
Shu Uemura Hard Formula -- I've never filled in my eyebrows not till I was introduced to this beautiful baby. I inherited my mommy's fine brows and only half of my brows are visible in pictures. I can't live without it like how I can't live without my deo.
Cover Girl LashBlastFusion -- I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this mascara. A good mascara is a MUST! My look is not complete without this. They dont have CG in Malaysia; therefore I would ask my husband to buy this for me or I my self will stock this up when I go to the US.
Here you can see my eyebrows; My skin looks glowy from a highlighter NOT oil; My lashes look full (I know you can't see it that well. This picture was taken from a BB camera). Weeeee...
I don't know what I'll do without makeup.
