Wherefore Art Thou Period?

Good Morning Readers!

Hope y'all are having a great week thus far. Anyhoos, I would like to share my short visit to Mr.Gynae the other day.

Fyi, I was supposed to see my doctor way back in November last year but I didn't. I can't remember exactly why I didn't show up that day.

Finally I scheduled for an appointment to see Mr.Gynae solely for the purpose to check on other stuffs; other stuffs being my uterus etc etc. I was drowned with paranoia, thinking of the worst case scenario since I have not gotten my period since after I had Maya.

Why was I too paranoid?

As I mentioned, I have not been visited by Miss Rosie since after Nifas. Yes, I've done my research and it's normal for breastfeeding mothers not to have period/ovulate. However, nothing I've read exceeds 12 months. Moreover, for the passed 2 months, I am somewhat a part-time breastfeeding mother since I've not pump during the day; I only bf at nights on weekdays and of course full time on weekends since I'm with Maya 24/7. Logically, to me, I should be getting my period since I am not lactating as mush as I used to. After putting much thought to this, I decided to see my doctor.

The doctor said there's nothing to be worried about. He said it doesn't matter if I'm bf part/full time, bottom line I'm still lactating. He added that the period should come around three months after I'm done lactating. I blurted "lamanyaaaa". I honestly do miss the cramps, mood swings and everything that comes with it. *sigh*

I was mentally prepared for a pap smear. When the doctor saw us and I told him my concerns and he asked a bunch of questions, it all resulted to no further checkup. However, silly me, I missed my third shot of Hepatitis B and now I have to start it all over again.

Just perfect Farah, PERFECT!

I hope this post will help other worried breastfeeding mommies out there.
