Amsterdam

Early August my family and I went to Florida for my sister's graduation. Amsterdam was our transit hub and we ended spending a night there because we couldn't get any flight out to Atlanta, GA; that's what happen when travelling on a standby ticket with ZILCH priority.

Amsterdam City is beautiful, a little dirty but which city center isn't. I would visit again for a proper vacation.


The only thing I don't like about Netherlands/Holland is their PEOPLE!! They are the rudest, I repeat, THE RUDEST people EVER! I thought Malaysia's hospitality is bad but Netherlands' customer service is non-existent! Just HORRIBLE! ESPECIALLY KLM STAFFS! I will never ever ever EVER fly with KLM! Schipol airport staffs are equally evil!

    ive been to amsterdam and it was great, me and husband was there for three days and we made good friends there, the people at train station and hotel were all friendly and helpful. so sorry you had a terrible time there.
    i've never flown with KLM though

    Bestnyer you girls had a great time in Netherlands. More reasons for us to go back there and experience it BETTER! =D

      Hi Sara. Sorry I terdelete your comment. I tot I clicked "preview comment" but it was actually "remove comment". :s Im sure Amsterdam is tons way better than KL but on that day we really did had a horrible experience in the airport. DELTA had a bunch of flights delayed or was it canceled (can't remember, this was last Ramadhan! :O) and we were trying to get a flight out to Tampa,FL but the staffs were saying they couldn't find us in the system so it was as though our tickets didn't even exist! Called their helpline and went to their counter and all of them said the same thing. We finally figured it out, and after gazzillion phone calls and talked to different operator (Dutch and even called America) finally we were of course in the system! Apparently, we didn't use the right "term" when explaining our staff ticket. Ya Allah, it was pure madness. But as I mentioned, I will definitely go to Amsterdam again but never use their airport as a transit hub especially traveling on a Staff Ticket. Btw, saw your blog and you're living in Holland. How awesome!!!
